Absolutely give it a go. The individual stages are hard as hell, but the reset after failure is super fast, and you learn quick.
Sounds good. Once the code freeze for the next MAME version hits this Saturday, I'll put my coding to the side and take a shot at it.

Something Celeste does really well is difficulty controls. There's a fair few options to make things easier with absolutely no punishment for using them as I recall.

The game is easy to pick up and put down whenever. Just make sure you have a good controller. I did mine on Joycons and found the Switch Pro controller to be way more accurate for angled jumps and stuff.

Yeah, I play the pro controller exclusively. :D Can’t imagine doing it on joy cons.
