Also, in the event that you're reading this, Mae, thank you. Your comic is single-handedly responsible for me actually having friends in the early 00's when I was going for my Bachelor's degree.
I was taking Calculus I (which I ended up having to re-take because the professor's presentation style was bone-dry and I learned nothing), and this one dude was wearing a Real Life shirt, which I'd been an avid reader of for about a year at that point.

I went up and complimented the dude on that shirt, and we ended up getting along great.

No Hallmark ending to this one unfortunately, we were good friends for a number of years, but time is a cruel mistress, and we gradually drifted apart post-uni. But I'll never forget Darryl, John, and the rest of our crew.
