You’d be surprised how many people do not have kettles
I didn't know anyone in the first 28 years of my life, living in the US, who had a kettle. Meanwhile, I now live in Sweden, and for some reason there's an electric kettle in my kitchen. I didn't buy it. I don't remember my partner buying it. It just kind of manifested itself.

The magical manifesting kettle

It's shockingly useful for anything involving boiling water. When it's time to make pasta, my partner uses it 4 times in a row to super-heat 4L of water, because that's faster than waiting for the cooktop to heat a pot of cold water. Mind blown.
