I think the original SS1 requires that but the SS1+ and later accept the mkpl shorthand.

Well, that's a weight off my mind. Good thing none of them at all can boot SunOS 4.1 in MAME anymore, anyway, since I tried to make the MMU cache implementation more generic to make the SS2 tests pass (which I did), but simultaneously broke the shit out of OS installs.
