I can compile sdlmame if I need to.
That's great, but straight up, a Pi4 does not have the CPU juice needed for most arcade emulation unless you use an ancient, hacked-to-shit build of MAME that lacks the majority of the improvements that have gone in over the past 15 years.

I believe that, especially coming from you. I think the only MAME things I'd use it for would be CPS2/3 and some shooters that there aren't FPGA cores for yet, but if they wouldn't work, they wouldn't work. Oh well.
