Looking for help for an audio engineer. My machine picks up this interference whenever I'm recording on my Blue Yeti mic. http://polygonal-moogle.com/debug/interference.wav … - WARNING: Volume. I had to apply a maximization filter. Damned if I know what it is. (1/2)
Sorry for the potentially stupid question, but how would I go about isolating the USB cable's power lines specifically? I just made an interesting discovery: When I have local-loopback mode enabled on the mic, I don't hear the intereference... *unless* I am recording.

So at the very least, it seems to only occur when data is being captured by the mic and sent over to the PC. Meanwhile, there's no audible interference when I'm listening to something being sent in the other direction (like a YouTube video or something on Spotify).

Retain ground or even give it a better ground if you can find one on the computer. But cut the 5V line on a USB cable, then give the mic it's own, clean, 5V power supply (as long as you common the ground). Or better/safer still use a USB opto-isolator: https://www.amazon.co.uk/ARCELI-Isolator-Eliminator-Industrial-Protection/dp/B07SJD86TD/ref=pd_day0_107_2/260-5666511-6544418?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07SJD86TD&pd_rd_r=34df9df6-c3cb-4221-8fe4-f27f03724b9c&pd_rd_w=MX8io&pd_rd_wg=pMGQe&pf_rd_p=0b62e924-7a6d-4dbc-bf05-0cc3bd2ad828&pf_rd_r=6KZ1QTYB1W1ERXDJH819&psc=1&refRID=6KZ1QTYB1W1ERXDJH819 …

200 SEK (about 20 EUR)... not a bad price at all. Think I'll try ordering one once this month's paycheck hits and we'll see how it goes. Thanks for the suggestions!
