While the two things are broadly coupled, in the sense that you will undoubtedly have an EEG machine attached during profiling for photosensitivity, suggesting that an EEG itself causes seizures in photosensitive patients is dishonest and dangerous.
If you have to be put under general anesthesia, for example, you might be hooked up to an EEG machine. This in fact both safe and perfectly normal. There's enough medical misinformation out there on both sides of the aisle. Let's please not propagate it through lazy reporting.
