Same opinion. I don't get how a filter on the final output would hide the problem without affecting the useful signal in some way or the other. What if a game wants to display something similar to the jailbars ?
To me, your response came off as a dismissal of what I was suggesting, without any context to say how or why it was being dismissed in your mind. In retrospect, yeah, it was probably a pretty faulty suggestion, but I still don't quite know the principles as to why. That's all.

I just wanted to know how did you come up with the solution you proposed, because I thought I was missing something, or I didn't understand the problem correctly. No facial expressions, no voice tone, no troll-y punctuation. Just a simple question :/

To clarify: My thoughts were just that since the PPU PCLK is something like 7x to 8x the NTSC color carrier (per nesdev) to get the NTSC color effect, then intereference at roughly 1/8 PCLK can be easily filtered out without notching other, higher, frequencies.
