Activision now are about as similar to original Activision as Atari now are to original Atari. That game doesn't "belong" to them except in some extremely abstracted legal way. True, actual belonging is outside of that.
Now? I worked for them from 2007 to 2010 when I was laid off among about 500 other people for their crap business sense. They weren't even trying to maintain a semblance of being in touch with their past *then*. Also, hi, loved your C64 titles.
