A small MAME update for your synth-heads out there, a pair of long-time MAME devs in conjunction with an upstart genius - @o_galibert, R. Belmont, and "AJR", are working on emulating the Yamaha MU5 Tone Generator.

I think it's definitely time for MAME to start emulating classic synths.

MAME has, at this point, several hundred skeleton drivers for classic synths. While a number of them are missing ROMs - many are missing CPU dumps due to them being embedded in an MCU, or vice-versa for wave ROMs - there's still plenty to do for those interested.
