Is anyone out there familiar with LibreOffice? I've tried installing it, but all I seem to have managed to do is install some "open" not-word-processing software that has made my workstation smell vaguely of patchouli and smugness. Any help?
Jokes aside, I'm only able to edit a spreadsheet, which is not at all what I was interested in doing in the first place. That's really great that the benevolent open-source community has decided that I want to edit spreadsheets today, but it isn't actually my interest.
It's trying to do the office thing of having some app portal that doesn't make sense. If you open Writer directly, it should give you the word processor. I can never remember which of open or libre office is least annoying.
That's strange... I've installed LibreOffice on my computers plenty of times and I haven't had any issues... Are you sure you're using the correct installation software?
Very odd. LibreOffice has been my company's sole office suite for nearly 10 years, on Windows and Linux, so I know what you describe isn't normal for it. Diagnostic time!
