Therefore, unlike Game & Watch titles, Tiger handhelds *must* be decapped in order to dump them, which is an inherently destructive process.
Sean Riddle is currently the only person equipped to both decap the handhelds, photograph the die, *and* get the LCD segments photographed in a fixed jig so that the end result can be traced over in a vector art program.

However, he has an extensive backlog (
@MameHaze can attest to that), as well as real life to content with. And to top it off, decapping devices has a measurable material cost in terms of nitric acid, whink, and labor. -
Without getting too much into the details, we had an opportunity to have most of the late 80's and 90's Tiger library preserved, but due to some mixup in communication, it was not made apparent that this was a destructive process, and so things have been stalled for a while now.
