Can anyone suggest a program that can do decent side-by-side diffs between files that are hundreds of megs in size? Textpad craps itself trying to compare a 240-meg text file to a 220-meg text file, I let it run for half an hour before killing it.

Started using Beyond Compare just as a difftool in
#Git but things like Set as base folder and Set as base folder in other side make it the most elegant file tree browser ever! Helps a lot in Linux but it's maybe a better file system than Mac Finder even.pic.twitter.com/VDBVaqx1mD
I only vaguely recall this thread, but I seem to remember that Araxis Merge ended up being my port of call for this. Its UI is anything but intuitive, but it's quite the powerful bit of software once you can get beyond the initial hurdles.
