As I recall, it was pretty simple.
It is. The keyboard sends ASCII over to the TDS box and works fine already. The tablet sends either binary or ASCII over to the TDS box depending on the state of one of the DIP switches.

The most helpful possible thing right now would be hooking a scope or LA up to certain specific pins on the tablet's Z8681, and performing various actions (pen in prox, pen out of prox, directional swipes, etc.).
