profanity feels helpfully expressive to me. I've been told "it's not big and it's not clever", one way or another, since forever. But I've never stopped. Sometimes (most of the time), only a "fuck" or a "shit" will do.
It's like this: I could waste a bunch of time by putting on a monocle, raising a pinky, and going, "I say, Jeeves, this electronic transacting machine is being particularly recalcitrant today, I should hasten its demise forthwith." Or I could just say "fuck this fucking computer"
