Actually getting input working on the Quantel DPB-7000 emulation is like pushing a boulder up a hill.
Honestly, I'm just glad that you folks (and the folks at TDS) were all about debugging and verification. So far I've found that the computer box, the TDS box, and the floppy controller all have debug modes that they can be flipped into. The tablet itself probably does, too.

Pure self defence. It is a habit that went a bit far later, when we found that 10% of the power on machines like Henry was allocated to debug LEDs that, mostly, flashed in pretty patterns. But with so many cooperating systems, they all needed to be “visible”.
