Moreover, and I can't underscore this enough, contributing to RetroArch does not help anyone but the RetroArch developers themselves. They don't contribute anything back to the emulators that they have duct-taped together.
You keep falling back to the "I have no idea what you're talking about" refrain, but it doesn't appear that you're actually trying to understand what I'm talking about.

It's very simple: MAME2003 does not give an accurate representation of arcade games. It never has. It never will. The goal of MAME is to accurately preserve arcade games. You can literally dumpster-dive a PC that can run modern MAME. Your excuse for MAME2003 doesn't hold water.

The only reason to use MAME2003 is if you're using some ARM machine with piss-poor specs, like a Raspberry Pi. Which is fine, if you don't actually care about an authentic experience.
