I totally understand your frustration and where it's coming from. It's 100% justified. But also, if you contact them, they may actually be very willing to help you make that happen or help contribute in some way.
They get alarmingly hinky if you so much as ask why they need a couple more grand to "secure their build bot" (paraphrasing), let alone ask them to actually account for where their Patreon funds go. They're not interested in using that money for anything other than themselves.
I suggested it as I've seen them do similar things in the past, but can't say I personally pay attention to their Patreon or them asking for money at all so seeing you say that is news to me, but isn't surprising either.
