Is there anybody out there with a V-Tech "Jammin' Gym Class" dance mat, a working V. Smile console, and access to a logic analyzer?

Yes and no, but mainly no. The controller protocol is arbitrary since it's a bidirectional serial link. The ABC button on a normal controller corresponds to Blue-paw on the pad, OK is OK, and the Red button is (I think) the Green-paw, but nothing else seems to map 1:1.
Given that the games run in MAME, I *should* be able to reverse-engineer the protocol, but after spending an hour on it, I decided to mentally flip the table and go do something else. @beemmxx has an LA and offered to pick up a mat for 20 EUR, so it should be sorted soon enough.
