I want to do a write-up on the history of the Game & Watch preservation effort in MAME, but I don't have a CMS installed on my site. Can someone suggest a good CMS that's easy to install, easy to configure, and is relatively bulletproof from spambots?

Do you really need a CMS? A static site generator like 11ty / Hugo won't have you worrying about bots.
Mainly, I'd prefer something with a WYSIWYG editor or at least a way of previewing my post live. Combine that with various things that blog CMSes tend to do (About page, splash page, etc.) and I'm steering away from static site generation.

Fair enough. I'm using WP for my SF2 reverse engineering blog
@SF2platinum but I'm planning a move to static, I just like fast page loads really. -

Have you tried ButterCMS? It's a headless CMS with a preconfigured blog engine and full CMS capabilities. Is this for a personal site?
