According to this one SPG270 doc, the way it works is that an ADC interrupt (bit 13) is immediately flagged when the ADC is enabled, as it's ready for conversion. From there, the program will service the interrupt, and write bit 12 to request conversion.

Bit 12 auto-clears after 3 ADC clocks, then 16 ADC clocks later the value will be ready, at which point the conversion-ready IRQ is flagged again, and the data will be present in the ADC Data register. If you feel like pinging me on Discord, I can hook up up with the 270 doc.
