Happy to help! It's a bit of a strange one, in that there is no arbitrary 8x 16-bit shuffle instruction, only ones which will shuffle the high four or low four elements of a vector. PSHUFB is the next best option, it just operates on 16x 8 bits instead.
What version of SSE are you targeting? If you're willing to make the leap to SSSE3, then you can leverage pshufb to get things into the right place.
