Does anyone else use "~" to mean "around"? I only use it with other programmers/mathematicians but I want this to be more common. e.g. "Let's meet ~10AM tomorrow."

Yep - I use it all the time in technical circles, but use c. (for circa) in less technical circles. Can't remember if it was maths, physics or engineering studies that taught me to use it.
