I have to give props to my friend Ted. We both vehemently disagree on this whole Naughty Dog leak situation. But we also appreciate each others' insights from opposite sides of the industry, and can disagree without lobbing insults at each other.

1/ Nor mine, but since you ask: My opinion on that in particular is that Sony are shotgunning DMCA notices all over the place in order to try to stem the tide of reposts of illegally-obtained game assets, and there will naturally be legitimate videos caught in that crossfire.
2/ As for the average gamer's opinion, for a game that shipped about 17 million units, I can't help but think that this controversy is ginned up more by YouTube talking heads who want to grab view counts than people legitimately incensed by the supposed ending.

3/ My friend likened it to the Streisand Effect, but this is a fallacious use of the term. The Streisand Effect was from Barb trying to suppress legally-taken aerial photos of her home. These are illegally-obtained assets from committing multiple federal felonies.

4/ So at the end of the day, no, I don't think that this fervor being stirred up by a handful of YouTubers with an axe to grind is really that big of a deal. Every game goes through iterative development, and the ending now simply might not be what it ships with.

There's definitely, I think because people are bored stuck at home, been a number of controversies on Youtube that have been blown all out of proportion. There's some silly streamer called Susie or something who steals anime that's just been an ad-click gold-rush of condemnation

It doesn't help that if you watch one video about some dumb controversy, the ALGORITHM OF DOOM fills your recommendations with endless videos about it.
