It's not done a bad job on the trees... that actually looks like a faded colour negative or slide. Some films of that era redshifted in a similar way (others blueshifted).

Granted, it's not completely awful. It's more just that more naïve users might be lulled into thinking the end result is inherently accurate to reality. It gets my dander up in much the same way as filters like xBR, 2xSAI, SuperEagle, et al when used in emulators.
