I don't feel any particular national pride as that would not be in the spirit of Jantelagen. Yet I can't help but be grateful that I live in Sweden and not, say, the UK or the US. Acknowledging that it could be worse isn't pride. It's a way to not panic.

So because Sweden isn't perfect, it's doing a terrible job and we should all be ashamed and be losing our heads in panic? ok then

Lol, there is no need for panic, there is need for action. Petition your government to lockdown to save lives.

That, I unequivocally agree with. I've been holed up in my place for the past month because I have the option of working from home. But I can't argue that the government does need to take a hard line and implement a lockdown.

That attitude is the reason these people are dying. Unfortunately.

I suspect my last sentence may have been worded poorly, because it seems you interpreted it as the opposite of my intention: I agree that the government needs to implement a lockdown. I'm saying I can't argue with that proposal.

Then that I hope you communicate that to the government, because honestly, at the moment, that is the only hope I have. If the Swedish people say enough is enough they might actually change course and save lives. Because this isn’t going to get better any time soon.
