I love a good UI that doesn't waste your time and clearly sets up everything. I think it's way too common for UI devs to try too much flash and lose too much function.
I couldn't agree more. That's why I like the cycle we've got going at @ArrowheadGS on our next title - get the UI functionality nailed down first and foremost. Then, *maybe*, add flashiness if it's necessary. But the core of the UI needs to be robust before doing anything extra.
