Might be worth reaching out to @simoninns - Sweden's a bit far away from Australia, but he's kitted out to do extremely high-qualiy Laserdisc rips via the Domesday Duplicator, and could possibly sort something out.

1/ In case you're not in the loop, the DdD is *the* method for archival-quality LD rips nowadays; it more or less involves tapping the laser pickup directly, and flinging data at 40 million samples/sec over a USB3 link, 220 gigs for a one-hour CAV disc, but there are advantages.
