I’ve got a twitchy KVM acting as much the same bench mark :(
The measure of a program that's designed with a good UX in mind is whether you can install an Nvidia driver update with it running and not have it yeet itself over to your primary monitor when the driver stack restarts.

Sounds like that's the job of DWM, not any other piece of software. As an application developer, I wouldn't give this the time of day. It's a Windows problem.

I have a primary display that takes longer than usual to handshake, and when it's turned off it loses the handshake.. so if I lock my terminal, wait for it to black out all the displays in a minute, then turn off all the monitors, three of them come back up like they should..

..the fourth, my primary display, causes Windows to do a "Nope, it's gone!" for a brief moment when it resyncs, then "Oh, here it is!" dumping my windows all over the place.
