You could probably improve it. It's a great concept that could save a bit of performance. But watching VR playthroughs would mean we can only the same stuff as the player.

It could be improved, but not by me. Saving GPU cycles is important when it comes to VR, but the "almost no visual artifacts" part simply twigged the skeptic in me. Like if I see a helicopter in a tree, I don't need to be a pilot to be worried about why it's up there.

We'll just have to come up with a rating system for VR which can tell you if a product tries to project more than the allowable level of beetle carapaces into your eyes
