And both questions deserve a rational, courteous answer. - Is accurately preserving the majority share of Nintendo's pre-NES creations really a waste of time? - Many of us are. See, for example, couriersud's recent work on Konami audio filters, and smf's work on DK hardware.

Its easy to give roles only to members that prove they can behave, or advanced roles for official devs (with private channels)

I know, I'm part of plenty of Discord servers. The only blocker has historically been the downright geriatric nature of the people in the MAME team's lead roles, but I'd like to break that mold.
