For what it's worth, it's a decent quote, but it's also only a half-truth. In most cases, it's not the words themselves that hold power in the first place, but the context in which and the intention with which they're said. Words don't have power, but situations very much do.
Hypothetically, if a group of bullies surround a gay teen and start shouting the word "f***ot" at him, it would still be just as disturbing and abusive as if they were shouting the word "chair", because it's not the word itself that carries the power in the first place.

Context matters, and the quote seems to imply that people are weak-willed or otherwise flawed for being affected by ongoing verbal or textual abuse. Screw that.

Oh definitely, and I'd transform the quote by "Do not show emotion and don't be influenced by words in bad context, and do the opposite when the situation offers kindness" !
