Short rant: I can't stand the "cannabis is a cure-all!" crowd. Yeah, it has a ton of anecdotal evidence to support that. But that's due to its illegality, even among researchers.

I don't deny that it has benefits. So, too, did the bark chewed by certain groups centuries ago to cure headaches. It was researched and synthesized. It became Aspirin.

An individual plant has a wildly different loadout of psychoactive compounds versus another. Unless you're cloning, there are no guarantees it'll be the same from plant to plant. And even then, subtle differences in nutrients might affect things.

This is why I support legalization. Not because I want to smoke pot - I don't. Fuck smoking. But because its illegality affects the abilities of proper scientists to find the compounds that are actually helping.
