My new coworker Nick is the best. He's from Bulgaria, I'm from New York, so we share a culture of directness. We were looking at the code for one of the oldest UI widgets I wrote for the game: Him: "It's, uh, messy." Me: "That's a nice way to put it, I'd say 'a dumpster fire'."
Dude's a coding wizard though, he was making improvements to my UI system within a week of starting. He wasn't even hired for UI, he was hired for the Gameplay team. The Gameplay team better watch their backs or I'm going to steal him onto my team.
