I'm not sure what you mean by stereo retriggers? The snes reverb is really a digital delay with a long feedback loop - which we kept short to minimise memory use. I used 2 or 3 channels to manually code the repeats - with some use of the snes reverb too.

I might have gotten it flipped round, that Sam's remake re-triggers samples rather than making use of reverb. Mainly, I was looking for confirmation that you're not fussed either way, and that the original spirit is well alive in the remasters.

There are plenty of us on the MAME team who have experience during the relevant periods of development, and I think my counterpart might just be a little overly defensive over the artistic integrity of your tracks on your behalf.
