Truth be told, the same sort of thing has been going on here in Sweden. As I understand it, one of the princesses ended up legally renouncing her royalty in order to give her kids a shot at a more-or-less normal life.

Well over here, these two want to give up royal duties but retain their titles, subsidiary, financial support and royal privileges. They are basically demanding the privilege and rejecting the work. That is why people here are angry at them, not because they want a private life.

Also... The OP is a socialist. This country is not a socialist country. We are capitalists, and we are royalists by very clear majority.
