Graphics peeps: Could Rayleigh scattering cause a visible hue shift in an image viewed on a CRT monitor, either to the eye or in a photo?
Presumably, the glass used in CRTs is intended to be an ideal transmission medium, but in real life, nothing's ever 100% ideal.

How thick is the glass in CRTs? I'd be pretty surprised if it's thick enough / impure enough to give any perceptible tint. Window glass for instance doesn't give a tint and I would expect CRTs to be at least as pure as that.

Possible but more likely the effect is from some other factor, as in is it a good quality BVM or colour grading monitor, has it been calibrated? No use trusting the CRTs colour when you don't know it's pedigree.
