The trick is that I only check Twitter every few days and I don't pay that much attention to my timeline, only explicit notifications. If I check my TL and someone's tweeted, I tend to respond, but otherwise it's missed.
Oh dang I could never do that Even when I just experience a minor glitch where something doesn't load it's like "oh no what if I missed out on a cool tweet that I'll never see again and gave me info I would have wanted to know"
