I don't get why there's so much Trekkie hate for Voyager. Does it have a bunch of silly episodes? Sure. Does it take itself less seriously than most other series? Absolutely. Does it have a strong female captain who takes zero shit from anyone? Oh HELL yeah.
Having watched through almost the entire series with my partner at this point, tell me which members of which half of the cast you're referring to and I'll explain to you why you're wrong.

Well I mean Robert Beltran has always been very vocal about this for one. And Kim's development is similar to Tasha Yar's, in that it always happened to the wrong version of Harry Kim

Can't argue with the actor himself, but to me, Chakotay is an incredibly deep character. I just finished watching S07E11 ("Shattered"), and it was a strong reminder how much the character evolved over the years, via seeing how differently he was perceived at points in the past.
