I've been spending this Christmas with my partner's family out in Gothenburg, and one of the things that really struck me is that my nephew can now hold a conversation with me in English, when a year ago he just spoke Swedish. The reason? Minecraft.
According to his mom, the little dude has been so keen on Minecraft that he's been watching no end of Minecraft-related videos in English, and playing it in the English localization, just to learn the language. Don't know why, but that's just incredibly touching as an ex MC dev.

Also, can I just point out that my nephew literally knows more about Minecraft than I bloody well do at this point. Did you know that you can tame a skeleton horse if you plink the skeleton rider off of it? I didn't know that. But now I have a pet skeleton horse in my Realm.
