I, for one, think it is very cool how a popular internet personality can out themselves as a piece of shit repeatedly over the course of years - with "jokes" dealing almost entirely in rape / racism / ___phobia / general shock value - and still play the "misunderstood" card.

People will [rightfully] shit on the Paul brothers for being a pair of sociopaths with absolutely no sense of right or wrong -- for repeatedly fucking up publicly, over the course of their entire careers. But try and insinuate that PewDiePie is any of the shit he plainly is.

It's this ridiculous double-standard established by the more popular of YouTubers; who cast Felix as their "representative," and convince viewers that whatever happens to him reflects poorly on the rest of them. He can do no wrong, because doing so would jeopardize everyone.

I mean, they're certainly right: Felix's actions have [and will continue to] jeopardize the entire livelihood around video content creation, as he continues to routinely say and do stupid shit and repulse advertisers. But for whatever reason, he's now exempt from that criticism.

I mean, I get it: All these YouTubers are scared shitless to criticize him at this point, because doing so now would backfire on them spectacularly. At a certain point, they're so invested in the grift that they just have to keep it going forever.
