I was diagnosed at age 12. Racism exists, but so does socioeconomic inequality, and I wonder if that also plays a factor in when someone is diagnosed.
Absolutely! Bias exists everywhere in life. I don't know what it is, but it seems like "professionals" will latch onto whatever they need to confirm their inherent bias, whether a person is POC, not economically privileged, a single parent, or any other reason.

I don't blame you at all! If they're willing to assume your economic status based on some completely irrelevant data point, just imagine how they would treat you or your family in a clinical setting.
