Yeah, it's just different use cases. Go is designed for asynchronous IO, it's not a general purpose programming language and it's not intended for CPU optimization. That being said, writing a modern web application entirely in C++ would suck. It's apples and oranges.

I completely agree, and that's essentially what shits me about so many of these languages' advocates. Yeah, it's great for specific use cases, but so many people get this bug up their posterior where they act like the new hotness is now the ideal language for everything.
