I have various MCU boards and no inspiration to do anything with them. I'm a fur but have no social gatherings to go suiting at. I'm a game dev but can't talk about my current project, and who cares about Wii ports of Guitar Hero, or heaven forbid Superman Returns?

I'm on the autism spectrum but have nothing original or useful to say on the subject. I'm non-binary but, well, likewise. All I seem to be good at is emulating esoteric systems, badly.

Eh, could be worse. You could be me. There's still stuff you can do, so enjoy life and enjoy your hobbies. Don't focus on the negatives. Leave that sort of thing to me.

Honestly what matters most is that you have a passion for it. Not everyone needs to be creating mind blowing content. I build Gunpla, and I'm not as good as 100% of the builders a follow, but seeing cool stuff like that just makes me love my hobby more. Don't even sweat it.

Ryan, don't let the illusion of social media get you down. We all feel like failures because all we see in this place are the successes. There are plenty of other people that feel the same way, myself included. Do what you do and don't worry about comparing yourself to others.

You mean apart from the SGI emulation, and all the other cool MAME stuff?
-
I mean, maybe? Point to any given thing that "I" did in MAME, and I can describe to you how I'd have been dead in the water without assists from other folks on the team. I'm not sure there's anything that I can really say I'm singularly responsible for.

Don't compare yourself to others in such a way! Compare yourself to your previous self and marvel at the progress

I mean, that goes for some of us following you! I wish I had the means and skills to do original research and work on MAME drivers.
-
Serious question, you certainly have the reverse-engineering skills to work on something like MAME - what's stopping you? If it's just a matter of the codebase being intimidating, most of us on the team are happy to mentor!
