Around the turn of the 20th century, there was a MASSIVE emigration from Sweden to the northeastern states in the US, so... probably!

In fact that's when my great-grandfather came over & where he settled :) it's fascinating to me what cultural bits stuck and what didn't

Similarly, with such an outflux from Sweden to the US, it baffles me how little folks seem to really know about it. I can think of about four things: The loan-word "smorgasbord", IKEA, Swedish Fish (which were invented in New Jersey), and Swedish meatballs (which are Turkish).
