I've never really had friends before and I think I just need to accept at this point in my life it's too late to develop social skills

Bruh. I was born on the autism spectrum and my folks insisted that I focus on my studies the whole time. I never got up to the usual shenanigans that people my age engaged in, and learned from. When I was turned out to my first job at age 19, I was hell on wheels to deal with.
But thanks to the furry community providing a perpetually open door, I learned. It took years. It's taken me 15 years to get to where I am and I still have things to learn. But you'll learn, too, and eventually you'll get to where you want to go. Have heart and, well, faith.
