I've been thinking about SA a lot lately, because while the community standards would have been problematic for many, the strong moderation was always present, and reasonably consistent. The adding of probations was brilliant in how it grew and encouraged those norms.

Hear, hear. If it weren't for the furry community, I wouldn't have integrated into Swedish society half as well as I did. It was through them that I met my amazing partner of over five years now.

I know, right? The furry community isn't without its bad apples, but as a whole they do a good job of trying to excise said bad apples so that they don't spoil the whole barrel.

I'm glad you found your community, Ryan. I'm deeply sorry that mine caused you so much pain. It was inexcusable, and it's easy to forget how much pain we caused. I won't defend SA's standards, just the way it promoted, defended, and enforced them. We could have been better.
