I know, right? It's almost as if certain ethnicities were forcibly brought to the US and some weren't. Why they might want acknowledgement of that fact will be a mystery for the ages, surely 
I mean my hands are largely clean, being the descendent of people who came to the US post-slavery, but maybe we can all be adults and acknowledge the US's economic history being rooted in the slave trade without pretending to be victims because of the nomenclature used by others?

Because honestly, if you have such a stress-free, pastoral life that your biggest concern is what *other* people call themselves, maybe just consider that you've won the proverbial game of Life and call it a day

Hmm, you took that in a very different direction than I intended it. My point was that Trump (and his associates) trying to put country of origin as a qualifier for what it means to be "American" is very biased and they wouldn't like it if it were applied to them.
