@zoeblade I've got to ask: Do you ever get an idea in your head of some kick-ass arrangement that you're going to make, right down to the individual notes, tempo changes, and so on - then when you actually sit down in front of the keyboard, it all just *leaves*?

Very rarely. And even then, when transcribing it, I have happy accidents that improve it anyway, that I go along with. This would be a great question to ask me over on Patreon so I can find and answer it in more detail in my next Q&A video...
Interesting. I'm finding myself currently just hung up playing with patches, trying to find the right sound, while just half-heartedly pounding out chords. I don't feel like I'm realizing what I felt in my head. Would be happy to ask on Patreon, but once I get paid on the 25th!

Ah, well my weird, idiosyncratic process is that I've pretty much segregated writing the music from patching and performing it. I'll make a mostly-Reason's-Subtractor demo version first, work out all the notes for that... then bring it to life in the studio days later.
