Hey @DCcomics: please don’t cancel @MADMagazine! Losing satire is the LAST thing we need right now. The future of the weirdos who will change the world depends on it! #SaveMADmagazine
I gave up on it ca. 2004 when I was seeing double-page ads for the latest games from Sony or Sega. It felt like they were taking my childhood out back of the shed and shooting it. Did MAD ever return to its classic format? If so, count me in the keep-it-alive camp.

It is very different now, but the only way to ensure it has the fighting chance of touching it's former glory is to buy it. You might not love it like you once did, but a 10 year old friend will be thrilled to have it.

That's a very fair point. Just theorizing, but it seems like they turned to ads for funding due to flagging readership. If so, as someone heavily into historical preservation (albeit on the digital side), I wonder if they've considered offering a complete PDF archive to purchase.

Yes, but without the old news print. Since you last saw it: - They only rarely take ads. And when they do, it's from brands that make sense. (Like one for a Dr. Demento album.) - The paper is a better stock that makes the artwork sing. Check out the new issue on the stands now.

I'm going to check it out, in that case. Thanks for the heads-up!
